Free live training · 45 minutes
You've tried therapy, a gap year, and three good people who came recommended.
None of it held.
Forty-five minutes on why capable 17 to 27 year olds stall, and why every approach that works on them alone keeps coming apart. Live with Dr. Raphaela Carrière and Celeste van der Leij, Friday 18 September.

The thing nobody has said to you
Every approach you've tried worked on your child while you waited outside.
The tutor saw them alone. The therapist saw them alone. The career counsellor, the coach, the gap-year programme. All of it asked one person to change inside a system that stayed exactly the same. Then you got a summary at the end and a suggestion about how to handle things at home.
This is not a criticism of any of those people. Most of them were good at their jobs. It is a structural observation: what stops a person at this age lives in a relationship, and you cannot move one half of a relationship in a room the other half never enters.
On the training
Three patterns, named plainly.
No slides full of theory. Three things you will recognise in your own house within the first ten minutes, and one you almost certainly won't.
Why the same quickness that made everything easy early on becomes the reason starting anything feels impossible later. When you have always been fast, effort itself becomes evidence, and not trying protects a self-image that has never been tested.
The trait everyone has described as your emerging adult's weakness, and what changes when it is treated as information rather than a problem to manage down.
Why "step back and let them figure it out" so reliably closes things down further, why it reads as abandonment to a part already braced for it, and what that part is actually asking for instead.
The mistake that quietly undoes everything else you try next. Most parents are making it right now without knowing it, and it is the fastest thing on this list to stop.
You'll also leave with one conversation you can have this week.
Not a script. A structure for asking that doesn't require your emerging adult to defend themselves before they answer. It takes about four minutes and it is the single most-reported change from this training.
Who's teaching
A psychologist and the daughter who lived it.
Raphaela built this program after two decades of watching families get the same well-meant advice. Celeste is the emerging adult it was built for. They are mother and daughter, and they came out the other side of the transition they now hold other families through.
Over two decades with individuals, couples and families in complex relational dynamics. She brings the clinical depth that holds a family system safely while it moves. Clinical lead of the program.
Supports emerging adults to reconnect with their own clarity and direction. Program development lead. She has been on the other side of this exact conversation, in this exact family, and she says so on the training.
Before you register
This is a particular room.
We would rather you skip it than sit through forty-five minutes that were never going to be yours.
Come if
Any three of these are true.
- Your emerging adult is 17 to 27, clearly capable, and visibly stalled
- You have already spent real money on approaches that were good and still didn't hold
- You suspect the explanation is structural, not a character problem
- You are willing to be in the work yourself, not just arrange it for them
- You want to understand what's happening more than you want it fixed by Friday
Don't come if
Any one of these is true.
- You want ten tips to motivate a teenager
- You want your emerging adult changed while you stay outside the room
- You need a result inside a few weeks
- There is acute risk at home right now. That needs clinical care first, and it comes before anything we do

Why none of it held.
The three patterns, what is actually happening in a nervous system that has stopped, and the first conversation that begins to move things.
Registering gets you
- Your link to the live room, plus the replay either way
- The Launch & Legacy program snapshot, so you know what sits behind this
- The conversation structure, written down, after the training
Nine months from now something could be different. Not fixed, not back on track. Understood, and moving at a pace that belongs to your family rather than to somebody else's map.
